Armed with a BA in English and a certificate from Berkeley Film Institute, I began my writing career by directing and writing environmental documentaries for technology, education, and conservation organizations.
I wrote film proposals that procured private and government funding, film scripts that tied existing footage together with updated interviews, and narration that translated science and technology for general audiences. These films increased project funding, viewer awareness, and state and federal legislative support.
Gravitating to the advertising industry, I produced TV commercials for 15 years. When production began to move outside the country, I wrote ad copy between jobs for marketing groups and small to medium sized businesses; eventually accepting a full time position in the corporate world writing business and corporate communications as a project manager and business operations analyst.
Then, while taking screenwriting courses at night at UCLA Extension, I discovered a deep love of story. That love has inspired me to bring the benefits of storytelling to business by writing marketing content; creating the valuable, relevant, educational, and entertaining content that customers and prospects are looking for these days.
